The autopsy results for an infant whose decomposed body was found in a South Carolina apartment show the child had been dead between 10 and 11 months, according to Laurens County Coroner Nick Nichols .Nichols said the remains were found Monday afternoon wrapped in a coat inside a plastic container inside an apartment at the Fountain Hills Apartments.Nichols said the autopsy showed the infant was at least 38 weeks old at the time of death. Due to the body being so badly decomposed the cause and manner of death could not be determined, Nichols said. He also said the sex of the fetus could not be determined by the autopsy. Nichols said Monday that evidence initially led him to believe the child was a boy. He said the child's mother said it was a girl.He said a cleaning crew found the remains.The cleaning crew was in the apartment after Laurens County Sheriff's Office deputies served an eviction notice.No charges have been filed in the case. Nichols said the mother of the child is considered a person of interest in the case. The case is being investigated by the Fountain Inn Police Department and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
