Four Impact players selected for Team Canada training camp

Montreal Impact forward Anthony Jackson-Hamel, midfielders Samuel Piette and David Choinière and goalkeeper James Pantemis have been selected by Team Canada to partake in their training camp on Aug. 28.

The camp will conclude with a friendly game against Jamaica on Sept. 2 in Toronto.

Jackson-Hamel, 24, first dawned the red and white jersey in a friendly match against Mauritania on Oct. 6, 2016. He also played in three CONCACAF Gold Cup games in May with the national team. In seven games with Team Canada, he has scored two goals and one assist.

Piette, 24, has two assists in 35 games with Team Canada, and 21 starts. He made his international debut with the senior team on June 3, 2012, against the United States. He also played in this year’s Gold Cup, starting in all four games for Team Canada.

Piette was a member of the 2013 and 2015 Gold Cup teams and played in qualifying games with the national team for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

This will be Choinière’s first time with the senior squad. He was part of Team Canada’s U-15, U-16, U-18 and U-20 teams.

Pantemis, 20, was first invited to Team Canada’s training camp at this year’s Gold Cup in May.
