KROS College students attend ‘Samvad’

Dimapur, Sep. 23 (EMN): Students from Kros College attended the 3rd regional level ‘Samvad 2017,’ organised by Tata Steel in association with the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) held in Guwahati, Assam, on September 19 and 20. The conclave was based on the theme “Aspiration of tribal youth and leadership for future.”
The two-day conclave witnessed participation from states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Sikkim.
Biren Bhuta, chief of Tata Steel Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), in his inaugural speech said, “The cultural relationship with the land is sacred and hence religious and requires protection.” During the interactive session, students of KROS College voiced the issue on tribalism, corruption, research and consultancy service. In the cultural night programme, Vevolu and Lipongla presented a Tati song, “So He Mo Yo.” They were selected for India Tribal Conclave to be held in Jamshedpur.
In the action plan session, Keliihol Tase, Assistant Professor, shared some of the innovative activities undertaken by the college such as the first college to be declared ‘Tobacco free campus’ in Nagaland, disable friendly campus, and research on social issue.
It may be noted that Tata Steel is operating in six foreign countries whereby 70% of the revenue comes from abroad and 30% is generated from the country.
