The Falkland Islands Registration Officer is carrying out a yearly canvass with the purpose of updating the Electoral Register. Accordingly this Thursday, 15 March, all households in the Islands should receive a form V “request for information from householders” in the post.
According to an official release from government if a household does not receive a form o further advice is required on how to complete the form, please contact the Registrar General at 27271 or email registrargeneral@townhall.gov.fk.
Likewise the form will also be available at www.fig.gov.fk/registry.
Finally all forms must be completed and returned to the Registrar General by Monday 16 April 2018. Failure to return the form will result in your name being removed from the Register of Electors, underlines the release.
According to the last Register, May 2017, the Camp constituency had 242 registered electors and the Stanley constituency, 1.180 electors.
The Falkland Islands held its last general election on 9 November 2017 to renew the eight seats of the Legislative Assembly.
