A Georgia man was reunited with his beloved dog on Monday after a mysterious woman wearing just a bath towel sped off with his car with the pup still inside.

'That dog goes everywhere with me,' Matt Sanders from Hall County told Fox 5. 'It's just my child.'

The incident occurred on Sunday when Sanders was preparing for a planned visit to see his dad on Father's Day.

As he was loading his car, he placed his trusty chihuahua, 'Bear,' inside the car.

With the motor still running, Sanders said he ran inside his house to grab a few more things along with his phone.

But when he walked back outside, Sanders says he discovered a half-naked woman had locked herself inside the car.

'She's in a towel, and I'm just like...'What?' he said. 'Then it hits me that someone is trying to steal my dog and my car.

Sanders said he begged and pleaded for the woman to let his dog go, but she ignored his cries and sped off in the vehicle.

'That's a person that I've spent my life with, and I want them back,' Sanders said. 'My life isn't complete right now. I'm torn up...torn up.'

Sanders said he immediately filed a police report with local authorities, describing the woman as a middle-aged Caucasian with light colored curly hair, according to Fox News.

The Braselton Police Department said that they found the woman at a Best Western hotel early the next morning.

Lucky for Sanders, Bear was unharmed and was reunited with both the dog and his vehicle.

The woman was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for an evaluation and it remains unclear if any charges will be filed against her.

Braselton Police said that they are withholding the woman's identity until her evaluation is complete.
