GEORGE TOWN: The first Penang State Legislative Assembly sitting post GE14 will begin with the swearing-in ceremony of all 40 elected representatives of the state.
According to Speaker Datuk Law Choo Kiang, the ceremony will start on Aug 2 and will continue with the opening ceremony on Aug 3.
"Penang Governor Tun Dr Abdul Rahman Abbas will officiate the opening," he said when approached by reporters during a key-handover ceremony by Ideal Property to Persatuan Dewa Sam Kuan Yeah Lee.
Law said the proceedings will then continue on Aug 6 and will be completed within a week.
Earlier in his opening speech during the handover ceremony, Law urged developers in the state to undertake corporate social responsibility initiatives.
He also praised Ideal Property for making an effort to help the temple committee with the construction of a new premise.
The new temple will be located near the company's latest development project in Sungai Ara.
"Kudos to Ideal Property for the new temple, you are not only the condominium king in Penang, but also a king in undertaking social responsibilities," he said.
The 50-years-old temple is located in Sungai Ara near the Imperial Condo project by the developer.
