Zenith Bank’s Christmas lights dazzle Lagosians

Christmas-lights

•A part of the spectacle

A Christmas decoration package unveiled by Zenith Bank on Friday is attracting many people to the Ajose Adeogun-Eko Hotel Roundabout, Victoria Island, area of Lagos.

It is a carnival of arts beaming with suave lights inspiringly installed on various objects lining the roads.

The beauty of the spectacle is best appreciated at night, when the lights dazzle the eyes and lure many people to have their photographs taken with them.

In the package are about 100, 000 bulb lights of Christmas tree,  LED cherry blossom trees, beautifully-lighted whipping willow trees and what the Zenith Bank called a forest of yellow and white LED Christmas trees glowing against the beautiful skyline of Victoria Island and Ajose Adeogun as well as the bank’s headquarters building.

According to the company’s management, the official light-up ceremony ushered in 2017 New Year festivities for it.

It noted, “Now in  its sixth year, the Christmas decoration has continued to get better every year and this year will go down in history as the biggest, covering the entire stretch of AjoseAdeogun – from the Eko Hotels to Ligali Ayorinde and the lay-by around the Eko Hotels Roundabout.

“A lot of people trooped to the place  to witness the  inauguration. They were particularly thrilled by the beautiful, outdoor motorised Christmas displays and decorations. The horses cruising on powered rail tracks provide jolly rides to spectators and admirers of the ecstatic decorations and lightings. Apart from helping to create the mood for the season, the annual Christmas package is a rattling sight at night, when the decoration lights are on, road users and pedestrians cannot help but admire them sheer brilliance.”

It noted that the annual decoration was part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility projects. Among other interventions that cut across different areas, the bank recently donated 550 computers said to be worth N100m to schools in Abuja, while it has also risen to health needs of some individuals and organisations. The computer donation was done on the platform of the Youth Empowerment Forum for Digital Revolution.

“In a few weeks’ time, we will host our annual Youth Parade, which brings together schoolchildren from around Lagos for a day out with the top management of the bank.  We may just have unlocked the potential of CSR as a potent investment for sustainable business growth with its strategic commitment to corporate giving. For us, giving to charity is seen for what it really is: corporate social investment, one to which the bank allocates at least one per cent of its Profit Before Tax,” the management said.
