Landmark Group Kuwait to Launch Art Olympiad for the Tenth Consecutive Year

As part of its commitment to the community, Landmark Group Kuwait is all set to host, for the tenth year in a row, the Art Olympiad 2018. The event will take place on February 01 from 8.00am - 1.00pm at Centrepoint, The Avenues Mall. Children aged 14 years and below are eligible to enter the competition. This initiative is considered as part of Landmark Group’s ongoing corporate social responsibility where young artists have an opportunity to showcase their talents.

As always, Landmark Group is keen on maintaining an excellent rapport and creating awareness about relevant issues among the youth with constant activities and events, while setting a platform for around 170 students from over 17 schools of repute across Kuwait. Children will be provided with a craft pack that includes a drawing sheet and a variety of art materials such as paints, pencils and crayons.

Mr. Saibal Basu, Chief Operating Officer of Landmark Group, Kuwait said, “It will be a decade for us this year to host The Art Olympiad. We hope to continue to raise the spirits of the students and encourage them to express their views strongly and in an innovative manner. Participating schools this year include: The English School Salmiya, Fahaheel Al Watanieh Indian Private School, Indian Educational School, Indian Learners Own Academy, Ajial Bilingual School, Canadian Bilingual School, Indian English Academy School, Indian Central School, Al-Nibras International Bilingual School, The English School Fahaheel, Kuwait English School, Salmiya Indian Model School, Carmel School, British School of Kuwait, Dasman Bilingual School, Kuwait National English School ,International British School etc.

Art Olympiad objective is to bring fun and entertainment to young artists by encouraging their creativity and reward them for their participation in the art competition. It provides a grooming platform for these students by helping them improvise their flair and encourage their innovative ability through art. Students will be judged based on creativity, workmanship and overall impression. Judging will be held in two age categories: 1) 9-11 years, 2) 12-14 years.

First, second and third place prizes will be awarded for each category, in addition to two awards for creativity and colorfulness in which a total of eight winners will be selected at the end of the competition. Each winner will be awarded with exciting grand prizes and many other valuable gifts. They will also receive certificates and trophies in recognition of their participation, and their schools will be given a plaque of appreciation.
