ONGC successfully completed laying of 1900m. RTPs in Rajahmundry Asset
NEW DELHI- ONGC has successfully completed the laying of 1900 meters of alternate line pipe material for transportation of produced well fluids and produced water in Rajahmundry Asset. The use of Reinforced Thermoplastic Pipes (RTP) is a world-class technology that is helpful in areas prone to high corrosion.
The project involved laying 3 different segments, 2 segments of gas lines in Mori Field and 1 segment of oil line in Gopavaram Field. The assessment of the scope and execution was entrusted to Rajahmundry C&M Section, Engineering Services.
This initiative is in line with ONGC's mission to use advanced technology for efficient and sustainable operations.
ONGC has always been at the forefront of adopting advanced technologies to improve its operational efficiency and sustainability. This project is another example of the company's commitment to using world-class technology to achieve its goals.
What is Reinforced Thermoplastic Pipes (RTP) in the oil and gas industry
RTPs are a type of plastic piping that are reinforced with high-strength fibers, such as glass or aramid, to provide additional strength and durability. They have become increasingly popular in the oil and gas industry due to their ability to withstand high pressures and temperatures, as well as their resistance to corrosion and erosion.
Compared to traditional steel pipes, RTPs are lighter, easier to install, and require less maintenance, making them a more cost-effective solution for pipeline transportation. In addition, they have a longer lifespan, reducing the need for frequent replacements and minimizing the impact on the environment.
Overall, the use of RTPs in the oil and gas industry allows for more efficient and sustainable operations, aligning with the mission of companies like ONGC to use advanced technology to achieve their goals.
