PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - In the heart of Panama City Beach, Miranda McDonough is on a mission to help both pets and people feel better—naturally.

McDonough, a longtime veterinary technician with more than 15 years of experience, turned her passion for holistic health into Paws and People Wellness Co., a unique shop dedicated to natural wellness solutions for animals and their owners.

“I really liked the holistic part of treating animals,” McDonough said. “Now, it’s expanded beyond just pets.”

Opened on Jan. 2, 2025, after overcoming delays, the store offers a diverse range of products, including natural pet food, anxiety relief for cats and dogs, herbal teas, organic skincare, and non-alcoholic social drinks.

“I have customers looking for anxiety relief for their pets, some for alcohol alternatives, tea blends, or beauty products—it’s really across the board,” she said.

Born and raised in Panama City Beach, McDonough values her local roots.

“Locals are what keep a business afloat,” she said. “Tourism is big here, but it’s the locals you want to see coming back.”

As a certified holistic pet health coach, McDonough combines her veterinary background with natural wellness approaches, aiming to bridge the gap between traditional veterinary medicine and holistic care.

“We’re here to support your pet—and you—while working alongside veterinarians,” she said.

For McDonough, Paws and People Wellness Co. is about balance—between science, nature, and community.
