DOHA: Aman Center (Protection and Rehabilitation Centre) in partnership with Vodafone Qatar, will celebrate ‘Gulf Child Day’ on January 15 (Monday) and will distribute hundreds of free gifts to children residing in Qatar.

Vodafone will distribute AmanWatch to children as a gift, which was recently launched in summer 2017. AmanWatch helps children to communicate with their parents and track their movement.

The distribution of AmanWatch has covered so far a wide range of children, whereas around 4,000 watches were freely distributed among children from Shafallah and other schools.

Talking to The Peninsula Mohammed Al Yami, Director of External Affairs at Vodafone Qatar, said: “Vodafone Qatar is serving more than one million customers. We have very active corporate social activities including AmanTech as a part of our CSR initiative. We take it as our responsibility to make society aware of how to use technology in the safest way and Vodafone Qatar considers children the most important part of the family.”

He said: “We recently launched AmanWatch in cooperation with Aman Center, which was distributed among children for the sake of their safety. “This watch is designed for today’s generation which gives special attention to technology. Vodafone’s focal point is children’s protection.”

Mansoor Al Saadi, Executive Director of Aman Center (Protection and Rehabilitation), said:“We are proud of every child regardless of their nationality, race, age and religion, as they represent the most important role in society. Aman Center is keen to participate in the Gulf Child Day and promote communication with Gulf children residing in Qatar. Children always need creative ideas that attract them, such as the idea of AmanWatch, as today’s generation prefers entertainment through technology.”

“Aman Center will hold activities, focusing on ideas and standards of the Arab community traditions and identity. The Center will show great concern for children’s rights spreading awareness in the community to protect children from violence and abuse and preserve their innocence,” Al Saadi added.

AmanWatch idea is based on facilitating the parents to communicate with their children, through a SIM card which is installed in their watches. The watch is linked with parents’ mobile phone to track the children’s movement.

AmanWatch provides protection assurance to parents. AmanWatch also facilitates children with e-games and a motivation programs that allow the child to score points to collect more presents.

Aman Center launched the watch in June 2017 in cooperation with HIA and Vodafone Qatar. During the launch, 3,000 watches were distributed to children travelling form HIA under 12 years old. The watch was gifted to all Qatari children as well as children who are residents in Qatar.

Children and parents can register themselves through the link www.amanwatch.com to get their AmanWatch. Aman Center will contact them and handover the watch at the Vodafone branch located in Landmark Mall.
