On 21 February 2018, the Bolivia Civil Defense reported severe rain that caused overflows of the Chilon and Oconi rivers in Saipina, Yapacani, Comarapa, Pampa Grande, and Vallegrande municipalities within Ichilo and Manuel María Caballero provinces, Santa Cruz Department; some valleys registered severe floods, destruction, and 1,162 families were affected. Several hectares of agricultural land, homes, and roads under construction were affected. The government declared Yapacani Municipality a disaster zone.
