Striving to serve the community by being a company that supports advancement and progress, Markazia Toyota donated a Toyota HiAce van to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), for transportation purposes and used in its various educational activities. The van was presented during an event held at the UNRWA’s headquarters in Bayader Wadi Al-Seer, in the presence of Nadim Haddad, General Manager of Markazia, the sole distributor of Toyota, Lexus and Hino trucks in Jordan and Roger Davies, Director of Field Operations UNRWA in Jordan.

This step affirms Markazia Toyota’s commitment to supporting UNRWA’s #DignityIsPriceless campaign, which was launched to collect donations from around the world for the benefit of Palestinian refugee families and school students, corresponding with the suspension of U.S. aid to the agency. Education is one of Markazia’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) pillars and Markazia Toyota continuously supports different events and initiatives that contribute to enhancing the educational landscape in the Kingdom as a whole, in addition to enriching the personalities of children and young people and empower them to become active members of their communities.

“In light of the global crises unfolding every day, it is the duty of all Jordanian companies in every business sector to uphold their role, no matter the size, in the development and advancement of this country and to continue to strive to serve its people and its residents, including refugees,” said Nadim Haddad. “We chose UNRWA, given our common goal of supporting the local education sector and offering educational opportunities to children of different backgrounds. Through this step, we aspire to pave the way forward for other companies and to be the leading example in the area of community improvement and its promotion.”

In turn, Roger Davies expressed his appreciation for the donation, noting the importance of supporting the agency during the unprecedented financial crisis it currently faces. He said, “I give my thanks to Markazia Toyota for its support of UNRWA’s #DignityIsPriceless campaign. Endorsing the agency and supporting all its services, especially educational ones, is an investment in the future as today's students are the future of tomorrow.”
