The Moodie Davitt names former WPP executive Irene Revilla to new role of Publisher

INTERNATIONAL. The Moodie Davitt Report has appointed Irene Revilla to the new role of Publisher, effective 17 August.

Irene will be responsible for driving commercial revenues across multiple platforms and for developing new projects. She will report to company owners Martin Moodie and Dermot Davitt.

Irene worked for WPP – the world leader in communications services – from 1999 to 2012 and from 2013 to this year as Global Head of Client Services (London) for WPP-owned Aviator/Kinetic. From April 2012 to August 2013, she was SVP Strategic Development (Shanghai) at Dentsu Aegis Network.

Aviator is one of the largest global travel marketing specialists and offers marketeers insight into travellers, their lifestyles, behaviour and attitudes. Her key clients and areas of responsibility have included managing HSBC’s Global Airport Programme (30+ markets) – the most recognised airport and brand asset globally – and working closely with Chanel Travel Retail’s media, marketing and commercial teams.

Irene has a BA with Honours in Business Administration and Marketing from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain. She also graduated in International Marketing from ESCEM (one of France’s top business schools) in International Marketing. She is fluent in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese and proficient in Italian and Mandarin.

“We are thrilled to have an executive of Irene’s capability and experience join us,” said The Moodie Davitt Report Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie. “Her appointment underlines our determination to improve and grow our market-leading information and events services and to anticipate and adapt to fast-changing media conditions in an increasingly digital world. She will work closely with our top-class sales team, led by Sarah Genest, while the creation of her role will also free Dermot and me to focus our efforts on the critical areas of content, innovation and relationships.

“Irene is the third major appointment we have announced in recent weeks, following the naming of Global Blue’s Hannah Lewis as Features Editor and Michael Barrett as Events & Corporate Social Responsibility Director. We also have further editorial appointments, both freelance and full-time, in the pipeline. We’re excited about the future of travel retail and the growing strength of the company. These investments represent a vital strengthening of what is already the best team in our sector and a platform for the exciting innovations that lie ahead.”

Hannah Lewis, Managing Editor, and Michael Barrett, Events & Corporate Social Responsibility Director, are two other recent high-level appointments at The Moodie Davitt Report.
