Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters Begin Northeast ‘Stable to Table’ Tour to Raise Awareness for the ALDI Corporation’s Poor Business Practices

EDISON, N.J., March 05, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- From March 5 -- April 24, the Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters (NRCC) will conduct the Anti-ALDI Stable to Table Roadshow throughout the Northeast to raise public awareness for the poor business practices of the ALDI Corporation.

In towns throughout the Northeast, ALDI has hired a number of contractors to develop and redevelop its stores. These contractors hire carpentry subcontractors who pay their construction workers LESS THAN area standard wages. Very few of these contractors also supply health insurance or retirement plans to their employees.

The Anti-ALDI Stable to Table Roadshow will take place in the following areas on the following dates:

  • Central New Jersey – March 5th & 6th
  • Southern New Jersey – March 8th & 9th
  • New Castle, Delaware – March 12th & 13th
  • Baltimore/Glen Burnie, MD – March 15th & 16th
  • Philadelphia, PA – March 19th & 20th
  • Lehigh Valley, PA – March 22nd & 23rd
  • Northern New Jersey – March 26th & 27th
  • Long Island, NY – March 29th & 30th
  • Hudson Valley, NY – April 2nd & 3rd
  • Albany, NY – April 5th & 6th
  • Central New York – Binghamton/Syracuse, NY – April 9th – 20
  • Buffalo, NY – April 23 & 24

“This is an issue that every American should care about as all Americans suffer when middle-class workers are underpaid, exploited and don’t have the health and retirement benefits for when an emergency happens,” said Robert Satriano, NRCC’s Director of Organizing. “We are asking the public to call ALDI and tell them that their business practices don’t match up with their social standards in production which state that ALDI’s partners should pay wages mandated by industry standards.”

In addition to educating Northeast communities about ALDI’s poor business practices, the Anti-ALDI Roadshow will also provide individuals with detail on recent ALDI food quality control and recalls:
